What do kittens and Ellora’s Cave have in common? Well, nothing really

But…this is Blue (Monkey), the newest addition to the Redwood family household.

I’m finally back home from my giant road trip and found this little fella bawling her heart out in a cage at the Humane Society. Of course I took her home Isn’t she cute? (I might be a little prejudiced…sorry.)

And, to come back to EC, I’m thrilled to announce that I sold another story to Ellora’s Cave, called His Shewolf.

The winter holidays came and went, New Years too…well, it took Kiefer Sutherland in a dress to get me to blog again, lol. If you haven’t seen it already, watch the clip below

If there’s one guy I want to have, ahem, dinner with that would be Jack Bauer. Can’t wait for the new season of 24 to start. Ah, can’t Chloe finally be his love interest? Love the girl.

I’m still in the middle of a giant road trip, haunting friends and relatives with my presence. I’m in Europe at the moment, battling a nasty jet lag. On the upside, the sleepless nights mean I have more time to write, lol. There’s a futuristic plot in my head that begs to be written…

Harlequin Horizons, this is the name of Harlequin’s new venture, a Vanity Press. Their tagline: Share the emotion… Well, emotions are running high after this announcement.

Honestly, whatever the bigwigs at Harlequin were drinking when they made that decision, I want the same. Be a published Harlequin author–just bring money!! Nuts. I was curious what RWA would say to Carina Press, but now it’s getting really interesting.

With the launch of Harlequin Horizons, Harlequin Enterprises no longer meets the requirements to be eligible for RWA-provided conference resources. This does not mean that Harlequin Enterprises cannot attend the conference. Like all non-eligible publishers, they are welcome to attend. However, as a non-eligible publisher, they would fund their own conference fees and they would not be provided with conference resources by RWA to publicize or promote the company or its imprints.

Holy cow. That is just brilliant. Thanks, RWA, you rock!

Well, Carina Press is for sure another big surprise for the publishing world, the digital-only publishing world that is. I wonder how RWA will react, after all, Carina is strictly royalty based, no advances. And no DRM. Holy smokes. And they snapped up Angela James as their Executive Editor. Smart move, Harlequin, me thinks.

It will be interesting to watch how this new venture will unfold.
