National Grammar Day
It’s National Grammar Day! (Note: Not “Its National Grammar Day.”)
Meet the “Society for the Promotion of Good Grammar” aka SPOGG. Among other fun stuff, they have the SPOGG Awards. March 4 is National Grammar Day, and as part of their festivities they are handing out awards to the U.S. city and to the U.S. celebrity with the worst grammar. Check out their worthwhile website.
This year, the award goes to President George W. Bush, who does not realize the plural of “child” is “children,” not “childrens.”
He beat Paris Hilton, who produced T-shirts that say “THATS HOT” without the apostrophe, and Courtney Love, who generates so many errors per inch of text on her blog that even the best instruments known to grammar scientists have failed to record them all.

You can join SPOGG. Membership is free and open to everyone who has an interest in English grammar. They encourage having a sense of humor about language (and other things, as well).
I might join them. I do have a sense of humor, not sure about my sense of grammar, but they say that perfection is not required, which is good to know
