Why I love Seattle, Alki Beach Park
There are many reasons why I feel very at home in Seattle. Alki Beach is one. The whole beach offers gorgeous views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains; ferries, sailboats and container ships dot the water, which makes for a nice mix. (Sometimes, you can spot the occasional seal.) It also presents a great view of Seattleās skyline. Alki Beach is 2.5 miles of sandy beach, and is great for walking and, my favorite, people watching. But the water temperature ranges from 46 to 56 degrees Fahrenheit, so I’m not even sticking my little toe in the water.
Alki Beach even has its own Statue of Liberty. It’s a small replica of the original “Liberty Enlightening the World” in New York City, and was a gift from Reginald Parsons and the Seattle Council of the Boy Scouts of America in 1952.
You can sometimes find me writing at the local Tully’s (there’s a Starbucks as well, and a dozen of other coffee houses, but Tully’s has the better views.) If you ever find yourself stranded in Seattle, go check out Alki Beach! And have some fish & chips from Spud’s, but watch out for the Alki seagulls, they are fierce.

Alki Beach Impressions
I took these pictures today. It was overcast and chilly, but nevertheless fun. It started to rain, so I stored my camera away, and just a second later, a bald eagle flew so close over my head, I could have painted his toe nails…
